Volunteer

Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis. Whether you want to commit a few days a week or a few hours a month, your support can make a real difference.

The foodbank in Market Drayton currently has a number of client facing volunteering opportunities available.

Welcome & Signposting volunteers (Recruiting from May 2023)
As the welcoming face of the foodbank, you will play a vital role giving direct support to people who use the foodbank. You will be meeting and greeting people arriving at the foodbank, checking validity of vouchers, and ensuring refreshments are available for our visitors.

We also have openings on our signposting teams. You will provide a listening ear and support people in accessing other services using information from the signposting leaflets/folders and online platforms.

If you are passionate about eradicating poverty in your community, are a strong team player with excellent communication skills and empathy then we would love to hear from you. Please email [email protected] for an application form.
